  Jia – its culture not religion – Islam allows us to go to the graveyard as long as you dont scream (cry) or wail there. Islam actually advises to go there so you remember death. We make the mistake of mixing culture with religion

    No. Originally visiting a grave yard was forbidden but then it was allowed provided that women don't adorn themselves unnecessarily and don't wail/mourn out loud. The original prohibition was because of professional mourners. Hazrat Aisha RAZ used to visit the grave of prophet SAWS and once she visited her brother’s grave as well.
